The Beginning

For My Virtues

If my Twenties were for my Vices; then my Thirties will be for my Virtues

This is how I started my thirties.  Well, this was my motto on my 31st birthday since 30 is apparently the new 20 and I wasn't ready to slow down.  Eh, I have a tendency to procrastinate.

30 is the end of a great era in a life.  In my late twenties, I had money, a job, a group of drama free friends to go out with, great shoes, etc. And then 30 happened.  I would still have great times but I noticed I didn't want to stay out as late, drink as much, or go out as much as I did in my twenties.  It was more of a gentle slow down that a lurching stop.  Sometimes I was worried that I was at the top of a roller coaster hill and at any minute I would go hurtling down a ramp into an oblivion of hermit living.   I had seen the descent into the life of a hermit (surprising a friend on a Friday to go out just to find her in her PJs at 7PM!) and was weighing the pros/cons.

But my Thirties are a new chapter, I'll have to flesh it out, write every sentence, and see where the plot takes me.  And you'll be along for the ride.  I'm betting on less of a drop and more of those fun twists in rollercoaster that spin you around and squish you toward the person next to you.  So this is me squishing you.
